“A Poet Behind Bars” – The Trailer of the Documentary Directed by Vincenzo Lamagna and Produced by Nano Film Is Now Online
Naples, May 12, 2025 – The official trailer for A Poet Behind Bars, the new documentary produced by Nano Film and directed by Vincenzo Lamagna, is now online. The film delicately and powerfully explores the theme of poetry as a means of resistance and rebirth within prison walls.
The trailer premiered on Friday, May 2 at the Comicon in Naples, where it received a warm welcome from both the public and industry professionals. On Sunday, May 11, for Mother’s Day, it was released online across major platforms – YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Vimeo – quickly garnering hundreds of views and early signs of strong interest.
A Poet Behind Bars tells the true and extraordinary story of an inmate who, through poetic writing, finds a way to express his humanity, confront the weight of incarceration, and transform words into a bridge to the outside world. The documentary offers an intimate, intense, and essential narrative that reflects on the role of culture in places where freedom is denied.
The project, currently in its final stages of completion, is scheduled for release in the coming months and aims to circulate through both national and international film festivals. The trailer’s release marks the first step toward the film’s official launch.
“We chose to release the trailer on Mother’s Day because it’s also a story about love, waiting, and family bonds that endure. It’s not just a film about prison—it’s a film about being human,” said director Vincenzo Lamagna.
